The President of the Republic of the Philippines, Benigno "Pnoy" Aquino, III, is now caught in a quandary either to marry or not to marry and to whom.

Two women are now popularly attached to his name, his ex-sweetheart, Shalani Soledad, who has a pretty and soft spoken personality. Soledad is currently a Councilor of Valenzuela City. The other woman is Liz Uy, Pnoy's stylist and an ex-girlfriend of the actor John Lloyd Cruz.

Just recently, Pnoy admitted that he and Liz Uy have been spending time together. With this admission from the President himself provoked many different reactions from the people, especially those who are awaiting a happy ending for Pnoy and Shalani's love story.

The following are just but a few of the many reactions gathered in the internet:

Ishinimrod: She's beautiful. (It is not clear though who he is referring to, is it Shalani or Liz);

RT: I am for Shalani as future President (after she is over 40 years old). Who do you want as "first gentleman"? If liz ever become first lady - she would be unpopular because Pnoy said he will not get married while being President and after Shalani agreed to wait, she was mercilessly dropped by him. The public will love Shalani more, just as the public loved the Aquino family when the later were wronged by Marcos;

Anonymous: Many feel sad upon learning that Pnoy is currently dating Liz Uy. They sympathize with Shalani. Others are waiting for the final confirmation of Pnoy that he has finally chosen Liz Uy. That's the time that they would finally react or give their views. The Filipino people awaits for it, as if they're watching a telenovela of a love triangle and Liz Uy is the villain in this love story;

Annie: We want Shalani as First Lady and it doesn't have to be Pnoy;

Anonymous: Pnoy could be testing the waters, which of the two will be loved by the Filipinos;

Mike Mendoza: Shalani of course. She gave all blood, sweat & tears courting people to vote for Pnoy from Luzon, Visayas up to far town of Mindanao during the Presidential campaign. She did it as a labor of love for her BF. Now, what Pnoy did to her....It's really unfair;

Rhodora Bande: I don't know this two women personally - I only know them from the TV reports that are fed to us by the giant networks. I have developed a liking for Shalani. Of course, that is subjective. I can't even give any reason why I like her. I just like the way she looks on TV and the way she carries herself. I can sense a very warm personality behind that pretty face;

Rose Cemanes: Pnoy should be careful these days in choosing a lifetime partner, especially that he is over 50 years old now. Many would wish to become his First Lady because of the prestige & fortune it would bring to a woman. True love is already beside the point. Even without love, a woman would love to marry him. What if, he is no longer the President? Would he still receive the same attention? Wake up President Pnoy. You're no longer getting any younger. Better not marry if you're not sure. Don't be flattered by women around you. With your status in life now, many women would even volunteer to marry you.

Jo: Shalani exudes elegance and she is what you may call the prim and proper girl next door. Liz is the fashionable and free spirited in some ways. But, if I had to choose between the two, I'd still choose Shalani. But let us not be biased here. Since we are not privy to their personal lives and we only see little things about this two women on tv and print media, we will never know who is the better partner for Pnoy I guess Pnoy should slow it down. After all he just got out of a relationship.
