Strange but true is that, majority of the many religious organizations in the Philippines are capable of deceiving people, even the highly learned and educated ones.
If only politicians in the Philippines have such enough wisdom and confidence in their capabilities they would not have depended on endorsements of religious leaders who pretend to have huge numbers of membership but the turn-out of events exposed itself.
Let’s just mention a few of the many facts and circumstances that may prove this observation and opinion.
For one, is Pastor Apollo Quiboloy on television, who made a straight fallacious prophesy that the Almighty Father appointed former Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” C. Teodoro, to be the next President of the Philippines.
Teodoro is the standard bearer of the Administration Party of Gloria M. Arroyo.
Quiboloy, a religious leader of an organization in Davao City called, Kingdom of Jesus Christ, promised to give Teodoro 6 million votes which in his belief, will surely install him to the Presidency.
But, to Gibo’s dismay, the turn out of votes, left him no choice except to gentlemanly accept his defeat seeing that the votes cast for him has not even reach 4 Million for the whole nation.
It is also of public knowledge that just a very few days before the election, as they usually do, the leader of the “Iglesia Ni Cristo” (INC) of the Manalos, declared support, to the newly elected President of the Philippines, Benigno C. Aquino, Jr. and his defeated running mate Senator Mar Roxas.
The endorsement was even headlined in broadsheets with the belief that people are convinced that they are that influential.
Aquino’s popularity was undeniably widespread even before he declared candidacy to the highest Office of the land due to the heroism of his parents, the former Philippine President Corazon C. Aquino and Senator Benigno S. Aquino, Sr., who was murdered under the Marcos Regime.
Aquino Jr. was forced by circumstances to run because of the appeal of the Filipino people who very much long for a leader with high moral ascendancy.
Naturally, the Manalos again, took a ride on that popularity as they usually do too, so it would not be obvious that they really do not have the numbers.
The Aquino’s indisputably has always gained a landslide victory in every election not only because majority of the Filipino people are still fanatics of the Catholic religious organization but for the fact that the people of the Philippines truly believes in the integrity of this family.
While the party list of the INC called “ALAGAD” is very revealing of the true number of membership of the INC, considering that the ALAGAD has just garnered 227,116 votes as per NBC Resolution No. 10-009 promulgated on May 31, 2010. (http://www.comelec.gov.ph/resolutions/2010natl_local/nbc_res_10-009.html)
Putting two and two together, the number of membership of the INC will not be too far from that votes cast to their party list as it is their practice, to enforce block voting to their members, otherwise they could be expelled if they would not follow the order of their leaders.
How could INC claim that because of their endorsements’ a candidate will result to be victorious when in truth and in fact their established party list has not even garnered enough number of votes for them to earn two (2) seats in Congress if indeed their membership are in millions.
Transition of leadership has transpired. Hopefully, the newly inaugurated President is wise enough to know that he is truly not indebted to the Manalos for his victory, but only to the Filipino people as a whole.
In fact, the Ang Dating Daan’s UNTV Host, Bro. Eliseo Soriano, the most persecuted phenomenal preacher and a pain in the neck of the Manalos said, “Truly, Senator Benigno C. Aquino, Jr. is the elected and legal President, for winning in the generally fair election, despite minor aberrations.”
Unlike the controversial winning of Gloria M. Arroyo, which until now, remain questionable and disputable because of the “Hello Garci” issue.
